It offen puzzles me why so many people refuse to accapt that we, as human beings (homo sapien), are animals. Mammals to be exact. (If you have trouble with being a mammal, first look up the true meaning of being a mammal before you answer the question thankyou). There are many different catagories we could be put into, animal, vegetable or mineral are usually the easiest catagories. Then there are funguses, chemicals and the list goes on. The fact is that we could theorise that we fit into all of the above catagories, with debate over the fungus one. However, we are animals, just like my cat.

So why is it that so many people have a problem with that?

Humans don't like the idea of being another animal, because most people eat animals -- and many people kill them for fun. People don't like the idea that animals can think, feel pain and fear and affection, just as we do. It's more comfortable to believe we are special creatures with some god-given right to abuse and mistreat other members of the animal kingdom.

accept?

Christians think that we are "God mammals",

Mammals with a God soul.

Animals live off of the same "breath of life" though, so I don't know exactly what they think the soul is, it's not what animates the body.
They don't think it inhabits all life, though.

I second what Danielle stated.
