I used to buy cough candy. I still love it, though I don't see much of it any more. There is a website, I think it's called something like 'aquarterof' which sells all sorts (pardon the pun) of sweets that I thought weren't made anymore.

Sweet peanuts. Remember? Butterscotch(ish) sweet shell with a few ground salted peanuts inside. Still see them occasionally.
By the way, weren't Victory Vs taken off the market many years ago due to their addictive nature?

My favourites were Black Jacks (aniseed flavoured) - Fruit Salad - cola cubes - refreshers chews -jelly tots - dolly mixtures - fizzy cloa bottles or a packet of fruit polo's
We used to get loads of penny sweets in a bag now you get about two sweets for 10p and the sweets are smaller and they don't have as much choice.
Kids nowadays are not happy unless they get a pound for sweets and 10p they would be like so is that all we are getting.

I remember Victory V! Those were the sweets we'd buy at the penny candy store whenever we went "bummin'" which was supposed to be a cute name for clothes shopping.

I always had a pack of 3 jaffa cakes from the shop by the bus stop - the shopkeeper used to ask if my dad had shares in McVities!
No wonder i`m the size of a small country now! lol

what kind of weird child were you?!! My mum used to like Victory V's but we called then 'brown burners' as they tasted so foul- less like a sweet than anything in the known universe as far as I'm concerned. Give me a pack of wine gums any day.

Either those Jolly Rancher sticks (I loved green apple) or these weird little sugary lollipops. They were like a squashed two toned oval on a stick. Nothing like sugar before school!
And they only cost five cents, if that shows my age...

i brought mint viscount biscuits to give to the class brains in exchange for doing my maths homework. he was from a broken home and on the breadline but proud. 22 years later hes a bio-chemist and i'm a labourer. very nice fella, seen him 5 years ago at the cash machine asked him what he graduated university with even back in primary school i knew he would do good for himself. ah school days hated them with a passion.
