Hi. I have a painful rash (really burns if something touches it) on my upper back - it looks (from what I can see) like tiny bright red bumps - about 5 or 6 scattered across my upper back. One I scratched, so it's ultra painful and irritated. I think it has to do with my sports bra - and the weather's been pretty warm, though I'm not sure. It's been there about a week and is ANNOYING. I notice it when I lean back in my chair. I've had it before, and it clears up, but it would be nice not to have it again if possible... any ideas? Yes, eventually I'll ask my doctor if it comes to that.

Look up "shingles" on the web. That might help explain a few things. I have had it and it hurts like all hell.

I don't mean to sound like I'm being a smart a** but I believe it could be a Herpes Virus. Especially if it recurrs.
It can live anywhere on your body. One person suggested "shingles" to you. This is just one of the Herpes Viruses and any strain of any Herpes Virus can live anywhere on the human body.
Clothing and irritation of any kind can bring on an outbreak of it. I won't go into anymore detail because, I'd need to write a novel to tell you all there is to tell about those very common viruses.

A doctor could do a culture of the area to find out.

Do you jog under trees? If so chiggers may fall on you shoulders.
