Could be. Mine started while I slept at night. I went to the drugstore and got a sleeve to keep my wrist straight during the night. It helps some. You might try the same thing.

The most common symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome are tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain of the fingers or, less commonly, the palm. Symptoms most often occur in the parts of the hand supplied by the median nerve: the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and half of the ring finger. If your little finger is not affected, this may be a sign that the condition is carpal tunnel syndrome, because the little finger is usually controlled by a different nerve than the thumb and other fingers. You may first notice symptoms at night, and you may be able to get relief by shaking your hand.

When I had carpal tunnel syndrome my hand would go numb. It would wake me at night because of pain especially in the middle finger. I had surgery to correct the problem. When my other hand started having the same problem, I found that taking a daily regiment of vitamin B complex has keep me from needing surgery. It has been 24 years and have no problem with that hand.

suggestion ... switch your mouse over to left hand and see if the problem reduces.... also think about whether you are pressing elbows or lower arm on edge of desk/table
