The fastest spinning man made object is the "Turbo Carver II" which spins at 450,000 rpm. An AK-47 Bullet spins at about 180,000 rpm.

I don't know if it's the fastest, but I worked at a refinery and the shaft on one of the steam driven turbines rotated at 40,000 rpm, which is really quick.

In the past - maybe 15 years ago we had slot car motors that did around 250.000 rpm off load I`m sure there is something much faster these days

I believe i saw a programme on television about one of those refinary spindles it showed you one and it was moving so fast it didnt look like it was moving at all.
