There has to be a balance between making your parents happy and being happy yourself. Sometimes, these two things happen automatically - sometimes your choices won't always make them happy - but you are the one that truly needs to be happy with your life. If you were raised with good morals and standards, I wouldn't worry about it. Go out and make the best you can of life, and I'm sure your parents will be happy with the result. Have fun - enjoy life - help somedody every chance you get.

Not sure what your situation is, but I have found that being respectful of your parents and the home that they provide for you goes a long way. Do your chores, clean up after yourself, be considerate, etc. Remember also that your parents happiness is not totally dependent on you ... so don't be too hard on yourself if they are having personal or financial issues that you have no control over. It's nice that you care enough to ask the question.

The best way to make them happy is to ask them this exact question and tell them that your intention is to make them happy throughout your life. Hearing this from you will make them so happy that they'll start crying from happiness. They will then tell you what kinds of things make them happy and you can try to go along with that, always remind them that you love them.

Your Q has tingled my insight. I have learnt from the song above what parents mean. Hence I have told my Mother that now she is my eldest daughter, I have two daughters (25 and 21 of age, my mother is 84 and I am 56).
"Give and take" policy does not suit w.r.t parents. When you are grown it is only give, give and give nothing else and you will find worldly peace and happiness in the core of your heart.

Parents want their children to be successful in life. Go to college and get yourself a good job after that. Raise a good family. I am sure that your parents will live up to the day when they will see your kids.

they've been taking care of u making sure u have whatever u want...
NOW they're expecting some care from u..
they always say when our children will grow up they'll make us happy then we'll relax ..So maintain their relaxation time
always search for their "interests"
they in "expectation stage"
they expect some respect
some "in return"
they want to c the harvest day of their efforts
at their age they expect some quite moments "silence"
at their age they expect u to come and surprise them with a short trip or tickets to anywhere
they Love traveling..
they're always in need of ur back up ...they expect u to be always their for them... so ur presence in their life means a lot for them

Take their advice and obey them. They have experiences in life and have heard or done things through their lives and know what is best for you. Give them respect. Learn and do as good as you can in school or in your job. Never forget their special days....birthdays and anniversaries.

Love them. Respect them. Call them often with news about your life...after you move out. Remember important dates like birthdays, mothers and fathers day, Be proud of who they are and their place in your life and tell them that. Treat them with dignity and kindness when they grow old and feeble and forgetful. Just stay connected to them where ever you go and whatever you do.
