You could try taking caffeine pills for awhile, until your body gets used to not having the sodas.
Or you could give in and have coffee. Just don't get fancy on the additions to it , and you should be able to stick to your diet quite well.

I am having the same problem. At the moment I am swaping around 2/3 or the soda for flavourd water, tea and coffee, but still allowing myself the Pepsi Max I love so much. The other thing I have found which sort of helps is crunching ice cubes. The other way I find the water easier to drink is having a lot of ice with it. Good luck :-)

I'm glad you asked this. I have the same addiction. I drink a lot of water, but sodas are still my morning drink.
This is what I'm trying. Don't drink one until the craving is really strong. Then drink one and try to make it a smaller portion then you normally drink.
If you crave more after that, don't give into it, drink water instead.
I have a coke every morning. It's my favorite. I think it's a matter of portion. So have one when you need it the most, then no more that day. No Big Gulps (hahaha)

On most diets you can usually include 'diet' sodas. If your diet doesn't allow sodas and/or you just want to cut down your intake (which is a good idea) try drinking Snapple Diet Iced Tea.
Flavored waters are also an excellent substitute.

You could switch to diet soda's. Or better for you, stick to the water and use the money you save from not buying soda to buy yourself something new to wear when you need smaller size clothing because of weight loss.

Have you tried fruit juice with soda water?
This would be less sugar than a regular soft drink, as well as not completely cutting away from the whole fizzy, semi-sweet experience.
NB:
Obviously when I say fruit juice, it should be relatively unsweetened, and acutally contain fruit juice and not just reconsituted pulp and water. Believe me the flavour will really help in the end.

i had a similar problem,im sure you can get addicted to the sugar and it is habit forming the way i delt with it was to drink plenty of water keep it cold in the fridge and when the urge for a fizzy drink comes on go and have a big long drink.
i found that if i drank loads of water i didnt feel thirsty and the cravings stopped, the only drawback was i needed to pee more.
now ive got to try to stop smoking.......thats gonna be hard.

We have the same problem but if i crave for sodas i just drink cold water with ice and drink it as if its soda....quite funny huh?!
