my daughter loves smelly brie and we went to a book signing it was a talk by Bernard Cornwall but before we went we bought some smelly brie. while Bernard was talking i could smell this smell like really really smelly feet every one round stared to look round and the whispered comments of yuk and who's took there shoes of there feet stink i looked down at my 11 year old daughter to see her happily piking the (furry bits she hates that bit ) of the cheese and eating the rest it was so funny when i explained to Bernard Cornwall what the disruption was he laughed to i like a good mature cheese with pickle and fresh bread

Well im not sure about the smellier the better. But I guess it could be true in some cases because the taste might be stronger. Im not really a fan of cheese but if i were to eat i would choose cheddar. I like cheese and pinapple.

Smelly doesn't always equal better. Though I have never come across a smelly cheese I didn't like. The thing to remember is that it doesn't taste how it smells. My favourite cheese is Bleu de Basque, as quite salty but creamy blue vein. Really, if it is cheese then I will probably like it. I have had to stop myself going to shops in a certain part of town because I always end up in the cheese shop.

Is the smellier the better? No, I don't think so, it all depends on personal taste. It's hard for me to pick a favourite cheese because virtually every cheese I've tried I've liked. In fact, I'm not going to pick one, because I really don't have a favourite.

I think it is a question of taste really.
Personally I love smelly cheese but you have to keep in mind that strong smell doesn't necessarily mean strong taste. Actually the taste is almost always much milder than the smell.
My favourite would be 'reblochon' than you probably don't know here. I love a mature camembert too, and... there are far too many :-)
With some nice red wine and 'proper' fresh bread... delicious :-)

I prefer the super stinky ones, but its all a matter of preferance. I make all of my cheeses homemade, using vegetable rennet and raw milk straight from the cow. I prefer brie and camembert, but also love a good aged cheddar or even a mild cottage cheese. I will eat pretty much any cheese there is. I love homemade pimento cheese on mochi-delish! Thats what I am having for breakfast today

As a former chef and having worked in many us of a's I actual have seen, eaten and smelled some odious ones, limburger is up there, I had Yak cheese from Tibet that would curl the hair on your ft and the aroma of a 20 year previous parmesan is sufficient to peel paint, yet a Syrian sheep's cheese I smelt as quickly as became adequate to make me subconscious almost, HaHa!!

It's a matter of personal taste really. I love cheese but not stuff like stilton or danish blue. I prefer a nice farmhouse cheddar - something that sticks to the roof of your mouth! I also love milder cheeses like edam or gouda. The best cheese ever is smoked applewood

As you put it, smell is some time really good when it is paired up with the right foods and wines. I can suggest angus beef burger grilled to perfection topped with crumbled blue cheese with a nice glass of red wine. Enjoy.

I think that it's an acquired taste with stronger cheeses - I prefer cheeses like feta but I also like cheddar and edam.
