I am a free thinker and have a very open mind and I do believe in God,,but note I have an "open" mind. I try not to judge others, but it seems the more "religious" you are the more you judge others. I like many others try to do the right thing in life but realize there is alot more to life that what was written by man himself thousands of years ago. I find religious people need to pump each other up and have the "mob" mentality. There is some truth to the paranormal and other sciences. But I believe the higher power God is not a small minded God like alot of those who sit on the pulpit or within the pews.

I don't believe in horoscopes or God(s) or magic or miracles or Santa or the Tooth Fairy or Tarot cards or palmistry or psychics or the Easter Bunny or the Boogie Man or.. most anything that requires magical thinking or prediction of the future.

Why do you think atheists believe in horoscopes? That's the real question here.

I don't believe in any such things.I have never had a single "prediction" come true from a horoscope and feel that any predictions made either by a religious person or by some mystical method is purely coincidental if it ever actually manifests. But I do not believe in the ability to see into the future as an ability by magic, reading the stars, horoscopes, or by religion. If it ever works it is only because when enough predictions are done one or two of them are bound to come true by means of coincidence.

Lemme get this straight - you think that atheists believe in horoscopes?

I suppose a few might, but you can bet that the vast majority do not, and for roughly the same reason that we don't believe in gods.

Man, you believers are desperately out of touch with reality.

What makes you think that? I don't believe in gods or horoscopes. Both are make belief, although if i had to choose between the two i would choose horoscopes.

My sister is an atheist and does astrology as a hobby. My cousin is an atheist and doesnt even like to see the bullkrap astrology strip in the paper. My auntie is a wiccan and doesnt believe in one god OR astrology, and my best friend is a roman catholic astrologer who goes to church and helps out with church activities.
It takes all kinds, there are no generalities.

interesting. but here's a thought...I am a Christian and do not believe in horoscopes, I've seen people of religion take very literally their horoscope and I've seen Atheists completely dismiss horoscopes as rubbish so I think it all depends on the person!

I've never met an atheist who seriously believed in horoscopes. I've met a few who read them for entertainment purposes, which is what they're in the paper for.

As for "GOD", equally as ridiculous.

I am an atheist and I don't believe in astrology. Another atheist might. Atheism refers only to whether or not you believe in the existence of god(s). It has nothing to do with anything else.
