Apparently if you drink more than 6 uk alcohol units in one go you fit into this category. 6 units is easily arrived at with 2 glasses of 12% alcohol wine.

Six units of alcohol - that's about 3 pints of medium strength beer, so by that definition I am a binge drinker on more than 3 days a week. Furthermore, going by the six units rating, I should think about a third of the population of Britain are also binge drinkers. Never mind!

I don't think you need to worry that much, firstly your definition of binge drinking is quite strict. Some authorities define it has 7 units for women and 10 for men. Others would say it is 10 or more drinks in one session.

Also, 2 standard glasses of 12apv wine would be 4.2 units. To become more familiar with the units in drinks then see the following site:

I think this binge drinking is exaggerated, people work all week and are normally to weary to drink every night of the week ,also not affordable. So the weekends are the only time people can really enjoy a drink, no work, sleep it off. I and my friends did it every weekend, but maybe in the 70,s people were more happy and not so aggressive after they had a good night out. But as for the actual binge drinking , that,s nonsense.

I wouldn't say I am a binge drinker at all as I don't drink to get drunk at all. I do like the taste of wine -and beer- so enjoy drinking it.
But I agree with you, if you look at units...

Yes, isn't everyone who goes out with their mates.
When you are told by doctors that binge drinking is bad, do you want to ask if they ever drank at uni. or have they always been total *****?
