I kind of want to see Fast Food Nation, but I can't bare to see an animal get slaughtered. Will this movie make me regret renting it?

Depends on how true to your vegitarian or vegan principles. If you can't tolerate animal abuse, don't see it. We all know that most food animals do not die in any way that is pleasent, why submit to such distrubing images to confirm what you already know? Most V people I know saw it to be able to complain about the plight of the animals and how they were tramatized. I started watching it at a friends house not know what it was and left. I prefer not to waste my time watching pointless drivel. I am a Firefighter and EMT, I see the carnage people subject themselves to all the time. I don't need to watch a movie about the horrors of animals.

Yes you will. There is only one slaughter scene, at the end of the movie. Most of the movie is about the human aspect of the meat industry. I think this movie sucked, IMNSHO. It has no educational value, and doesn't even bring up animal issues in any meaningful way. You can see it if you want, but I will bet that if you know anything about these issues already you will be disappointed.

I remember seeing it a long time ago, I dont think that they show animals getting slautered in it. (omg I feel horrible even saying that as my cat is just staring at the screen as I type this). Anyways I dont think you will regret it although if you are a regular fast food eater you may as it is a very disturbing yet real and not too suprising movie.

However the man in the movie makes it out worse then it is, a person is bound to get sick if they continue to do somthing doctors tell you not to...

Ummm I don't know but I do know that if you can't bare to see any animals get slaughtered, don't watch anything like that. I am vegetarian, and I can watch animals get slaughtered once in a awhile. I do that because I need to see how they die in order to go against it. That is why we petition, have groups such as PETA, GoVeg, etc.

I would stick with seeing Super Size Me! It still talks about fast food but they don't show any animals being killed. Pretty funny documentary. I reccomend it :)

I haven't seen Fast Food Nation, so I don't know how it is.

There is only one scene at the very end of the movie that is greusome. It made me cry....so you might want fast forward through it.
It was not anywhere close to the book - it takes a more "human interest" approach instead of tons of facts. (I would have preferred that they stuck to the facts).
I digress. It's only one scene but it's kinda long. :*-(

I havnt seen it, but i htink that if you are that worried about seeing an animal killed, then amybe you should see it to get over this fear.
That shouldnt stop you from seeing it, and then at least you will know that you should be vegan/vegy!!!

From what I recall...I think it was just a guy eating Mcdonalds constantly. There were no slaughter scenes.
