That it's making my study habits unhealthy. I'm almost 18, and in my last year of high school in New Zealand. I'm so scared of not doing well this year that all I do is study. I know this is good and my parents should be proud of me, but i'm turning down offers of going out and having fun so I can do all my assignments.

How can I manage my time better so I don't worry about school work all the time?

Also, I have extreme amounts of pressure from my family, friends and my best friend to do well this year. How can I tell them that their pressure is actually having a negitive effect on me?

P.S. Lori and Emawee, please don't bother answering this question. You both stalk me and i'm sick of it. Please just leave me alone.

Thank guys. Yes i am a good student, but in past years i've been sick with glandula fever and had my appendix removed 1 week before my final exams. I just want to be ahead of work incase something like this happens again. I'm ahead in most of my subjects.

Lori- you must have missed the part when I said I don't want something LIKE this happening again. Also it is impossible to get glandula fever twice.

Then maybe you should stop complaining about me stalking you then!

I understand that you must feel very overwhelmed by all of the pressure. Are you normally a good student? If you are, then I think you should take time for yourself and go out once in a while. Do not ignore your studies, but let yourself have fun. If your studies are not in any danger academically, then it is ok to have some fun. After all it is your last year before college. If you are having trouble managing your time. Make a weekly list of the things you need to do. Set time aside to complete those lists in the allotted time. Also, schedule times to go out and have fun with your friends. To your family and friends. Tell them that you would appreciate their support and that you understand that you need to do well, but if they could stop getting on your case about it that you would feel much better about school. Good luck.

I am the same way, but I am better now that I am in college. I don't know what will work for you. I just tested my boundaries so to speak. I started off studying just a bit less to see how much my grades changed. I was shocked when they didn't change at all. So, the next time I decreased my study time just a little bit more and so on until I found a good balance. As for you parents, just be honest and tell them you are really stressed. Explain to them that your grades are okay and you really need take some time for yourself. Good luck.

Find a tutor who can help with your studies as well as help you focus on time management. Also, google "time management" maybe there are resources that can give you ideas.
