Veggies are awesome. Pasta is awesome. Beans are awesome. My wife and I make tons of vegetable soups. They are really easy. Buy some cheap vegan soup stock concentrate or powder. Put it in a pot with vegetables. Boil until soft. Use a lot of onions and garlic plus any veggies that sound good. If you like creamy soups, do this with potatoes and broccoli and then blend it before serving.

Learn to love vegetables. I never thought I would, but I do.

I ate a ton of Boca and Morningstar burgers when I was a vegetarian. I can't really recommend them though because most of their products are stuffed full of eggs and milk which are just as cruel as meat products.

Kudos on going veggy! First of all make sure you network with other veg heads and do you homework! Research, Research, Research. Everyones body is a different and what works for one person won't work for the next.

You don't need meat to be healthy, and a lot of meat on the market today is full of scary stuff.

If you ever get the urge for meat or find a need to put it back in your diet go with kosher or organic so you get the safest cleanest meat available.

Get a really good whole food vitamin and take it regularly so if there are any holes in your nutritional needs on any given day you're covered. If you eat a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains you'll get the vitamins you need, but if you aren't sure your diet is what it should be take a vitamin.

Don't live on Frito's and coke, and take a good vitamin and think your good.

You need adequate proteins, carbs, and fats in you diet everyday. The more natural the source the better.

Because you are 13, you're still growing and it really important to make sure you get some really good proteins and fats. Flax Seed and Hemp Seed are really great for you and come different forms. That said protein deficiency is extreme rare and as long you eat a variety of food will get all the protein you need.

Eating primarily raw whole foods is going to be the best thing you can do. Find fruits and vegetables that you like and be sure to include them in your diet as often as possible. They don't have to be raw, but in most cases raw foods will provide the most nutrients, and organic is best.

Sometimes the easiest way to go vegetarian is to simply replace the meat in your favorite dishes with vegetables or meat substitutes. Look into TVP it's a dried vegetable protein. I buy it in sausage, beef and chicken flavors and put it in things like chili, gravy, and casseroles. It's cheap easy and good for you.
Happy Veggy Eating!

You go girl! My 12 year old daughter is a veggie, and she didnt really like veggies at first. Then we tried some new things. She LOVES breaded, fried mushrooms and okra (she says they are like chicken nuggets, but without the meat) She loves grilled veggie kababs (potato, zuchini, mushrooms, onion, and tomato, threaded on a wooden pick and grilled) She likes a burger made with a grilled portabello mushroom. She loves spagetti and fettucine alfredo, cous cous, mac and cheese, rice stir fry, tortellini, raviolli, and lots of different types of salads. You can email me or her if you like, since you are close to her age-maybe you can exchange ideas. Faux meat is not a great idea-too close to the real thing-whats the point?

maybe you havent found the right veggies yet! maybe try dipping fresh veggies in ranch dressing? but if you do like potatos, baked potatos topped with cheese and broccoli(cheesey broccoli is so good) is really good. even if you dont like veggies, there are still fruits, and fruit is awesome. try eating different fruits like kiwis, mangos, tangerines, so you dont get bored with them. also, i suggest trying the boca or morning star farms burgers, my favorite being boca. try the chicken patties too! boca faux ground beef is also very good, and can be put in sauce, made into meatballs, used as sloppy joes, or as taco meat. also, eating beans is very important. mixing them with rice makes it even better for you too. if you like lunch meat, get the "SmartDeli" lunchmeats for sandwiches. i like the bolonga the best, but the turkey isnt that great. do not try eating the hot dogs! i only like them becasue i dont remember what hotdogs really taste like. ive been told by all my meat-eating friends that they are disgusting, but i like them. good luck!

Some ideas could be salads, you could try faux meat (I have no idea what it tastes like though) or pasta. Here is a really good website for vegetarian meals.

Try pastas without meat.

When you get tired of veggies, eat cheese, beans, mushrooms, all the non-meat junk foods you love!!!
