...that I was prescribed from my dermatologist and it isn't expired. Will Tetracycline work for getting rid of this? I don't have health insurance right now. Thanks.

Going to the ER or urgent care is not an option...I don't have the money to do that. Thanks for your help.

Tetracycline is prescribed for respiratory infections. Its a broad spectrum antibiotic. Ampicillin is also used in cases of bronchitis. Are you certain you have plenty to knock the infection out? It isn't good to half way treat something of this nature because if you kill it down to a certain point then it becomes resistant and may not respond to Tetracycline at all. And you may need a higher dosage of another antibiotic to knock it out. I'm not going to try to tell you what to do one way or the other. Just giving you some facts. Hope you feel better soon.

If you don't have a high fever, you would be better to do nothing. Because the only thing you would want to treat right now would be pneumonia and Tetracycline probably wouldn't be strong enough. To treat your bronchitis, drink lots of fluids so the secretions can come out. You can recover from bronchitis without antibiotics but it just takes a while. If you keep getting a little better each day then you will be fine. If you get a high fever and have a hard time breathing, you will probably have pneumonia and you must go to ER.

A community hospital has got to treat you even without the ability to pay. Respertory problems get worse without the care of a doctor . Tetracycline may not be the right antibiotic for what you have , A clinician will take a culture and xrays to determine what you do indeed have. Self diagnosing and self medicating can be dangerous, You do not know what you have and maybe on the wrong antibiotic or not enough for long enough . This can cause Resistances to what ever bug you have and make you sicker. Get to a local walk in free health department in your town and find help. Non of us are medically learned enough here to advise you what to do and anything we say may be misunderstood and harm you .

It should work since it is sometimes used to treat respiratory infections, however, it is not used a lot due to a widespread antibiotic resistance.

You can try it but it might not work.

It doesn't sound like you could have an infection at this point. Usually your mucus will be brown or yellow, which indicates its been in your body for a longer time than it needs to be. The mucus is usually what causes a bronchial infection.

But, I am no doc, so, it would be in your best interest to seek some medical assistance if the pain gets worse.

it is possible that your symptoms are viral. visit the pharmacist and ask him for some meds to help. drink lots of water, rest, and remember a virus lasts 3-21 days.
or spend the $95 at an urgent care and make sure that it's not bacterial -never use leftover antibiotics as they can make the infection worse. you will have peace of mind and not feel like you wasted money on meds in the drugstore that won't really work. an urgent care will have drug samples, so be honest and tell the doctor that you are a cash pay patient. they are used to it.

No this will not work and you cannot self diagnose. Insurance or not you need to see the doc. You might have pneumonia and this could be serious. Go to urgent care or ER now and get this checked out.

Green mucous usually means it is a viral infection. Antibiodics will not do anything for a virus.....tough it out, and good luck!!!
