the error could have resulted in the original EKG machine from the fluorescent lites, cell phones, the jewelry you wore, the outlet, and many other electrical things. the family doctor didn't rush you to the ER. he made the best decision by sending you to the cardiologist.

Cardiology people are very conservative by nature. They do not make rash decisions and if anything, they probably over test. That cardiologist made a decision - not in a vacuum - as I am sure he asked you questions about your health history, etc. and advised you that you are okay. Listen - hearts are all he does. He can not 100% predict the future but his training and experience have provided judgement about who is likely to be at risk and who is not. He thinks you are not - REJOICE!

There are any numbers of problems that an EKG machine could have printed...including an error in the placement of the sticky tabs and the wires attached to them...that would have caused problems. Even if there was a difference in the EKG, unless there was a plausible reason for the error, the cardiologist would probably stress test you if there was a question (did I mention cardiologists are very conservative?)

Cardiologists do not tolerate suboptimal EKG's because they do so many daily and base important decisions on those tracings...I would believe the cardiology office's EKG from prior experiences.

Good luck. Be well.
