I would, only because the white pith on the lemon (just under the yellow bit) can be quite bitter, and it will inadvertantly end up in your drink.
It will not cause you any problems if you do not peel the lemon. It's just a matter of taste.

juice the lemon by hand, i have over 10 juicers, all different kinds, i drink juice all day
and when i make orange juuice or lemon, i alway juice by hand, using a $1 juicer from the dollar store, sure i have a automated one but i can juice better and faster by hand
if you have to, then yes peel the lemon, and throw out the seeds

Like most everyone else I'll assume you have an extractor and not a reamer. When I run citrus through my extractor it's because I want to 'harvest' all the flavonoids that are found in the rind so I *don't* peel it! Can it be bitter? You bet! But if I'm extracting citrus juice instead of reaming it's because I want/need the compounds in the rind.
I just looked through all my juicer manuals and "Juiceman" says to leave them all on except for oranges and grapefruit due to their "extreme bitterness". My Waring manual (the one I use now) says you can do it either way but recommends you buy their citrus reamer. The other manuals say to peel them.
All that said; I normally use the citrus reamer attachment on my Siemens Food Processor Plus. '-)

there are two types of juicers. one you just cut the lemon or lime or whatever in half and put on top of a twister and then the type that you always peel the lemon or whatever into, like a blender because it will dull the blades and clog the blades if you don't.

What you don't want is the bitter white 'pith' part of the peel.
But if you wanted to fuss a bit and put the outside of the peel in, you might get something approximating the flavour of lemon squash --

Yes, you should peel everything that has a thick skin. Lemon has a lot of acids in the skin too.

Yes, otherwise you get some pieces of rind and oil in your juice; I don't like it but you might!
