it sounds like you have hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar). if you take medication or insulin this can cause your blood sugar to drop. also if you are sick (cold/flu) this can also cause your blood sugar to drop. you need to eat something to get it back in the normal range. also since you are checking your blood sugar levels, keep a journal of the level and the time and the date to show your doctor just in case they need to make any adjustments. good luck

A sweet roll is a simple sugar. If you eat simple sugars, you're going to get a spike in your insulin to handle the extra sugar. Then your blood sugar is going to drop because of the extra insulin. Your doctor should have given you guidelines for your diet, and it should inform you to stay away from simple sugars like desserts, candy, etc..
Are you taking your medication at suppertime? I'm wondering why you take it twice a day. Are you taking any other medication that may be interacting with it? The med you're taking does not cause your body to secrete more insulin. It just helps your body better utilize the insulin you do make.
When you feel shaky, drink some oj or eat a piece of candy.
It sounds as though you could control your blood sugar with the proper diet and you may not need meds. I wonder how your doctor concluded that you do. Hopefully not just from one blood glucose level. Are you overweight? Often losing just 20 pounds will lower a blood sugar to normal levels.
You need to call your doctor and inform him of the reaction you appear to be having. You dn't say how long you've been taking the medication, but perhaps you need a different one, if you need one at all.

If you took some diabetes medication, you probably got a sudden drop and you will need to get back to the doctor and get regulated. Sometimes, when you are first diagnosed, the dosage needs to be adjusted over time. 72 is a little low so some orange juice will be better to take as it will metabolize quickly and make you feel a little better. There is also a slim chance that your lab test was wrong and you are not diabetic. A further test would be in order. your doctor will be the one to decide. Just expect to have a little bumpy ride for a while till they get things sorted out and in balance. It is all in the balancing meals and medication to keep yourself on an even keel. It will take some practice and getting to know your own body. Hang in there. Call the doc tomorrow.

Pharmicist - NO. Go see your regular doctor. If you want a 'hint' before then try using diabetic test strips (shows sugar in urine which your pharmicist can help you fine). Definately cut out the sweets until you know. But just cutting out the sweets will not help you if you have type I diabeles. You will need a glucose tolerance test and blood sugar monitoring. When I was 22 I lost 20 pounds (down to 82 pounds) and had many infections before diagnosis. Don't wait that long. Too close to coma/death.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

You are very luck to be alive with blood sugars of 721, most people with this level would go into a coma.( This causes heart problems, eyes, kidneys & etc. My Fathers sugar was over 400 and he passed out.
I can't imagine a doctor would tell you not to check your blood sugars yet, did you ask why? This is very important.
My suagr will drop instantly sometimes after I have eaten, Why? I waited to long to eat between meals.. If yours was 123 after a sweet roll, how soon after did you check it?, then most likely your sugar was dropping & you did not realize it. After the drop to 72, you either did not eat what you were suppose to, or once again you did not eat correctly or you waited to late between meals. Go to wal-mart & pickup some glucose tablets off the shelf and keep these with you were ever you go. When my sugar drops real fast I chew three-four glucose tablets and then a glass of orange juice and then all of my energey is all. My heart-racing woke me up one night I knew I was in trouble I grabbed my kit & my sugar was 32, I almost fainted ,I shook uncontrolable. Just made it in time, noramlly most would have gone into a diabetic coma, my heart saved me. This is a terrible disease, it control you, you don't control it. Your doctor should give you a diabetic meal list. My diabetes was not discovered for four years although I keep telling the doctors I was having horrible night sweats and a thirst for water& still do. But I found out yesterday I now have diabetic Neuropathy. I am furious..That it went so long undecteted.Check your sugar daily.

Blood sugar is 72 or 721?? I think you are saying 72, if so orange juice will give a quick rise in blood sugar, however, in my doctor's office, we give diabetics a few squares of graham crackers and glass of milk. It will raise and hold blood sugar at normal levels longer. CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!! Blood sugars not something to mess with. I think normal range for blood sugars is 70-125, but everyone is different. If you feel sick, CALL THE DOCTOR. You need to clarify with doctor what you need to do or be doing.

You need a better doctor and some diabetes education.
Once you are on medication, you need to check your sugars. Who is this so called doctor ?
Find a good endocrinologist and get started on living life with diabetes.
72 means you need to eat some fast carbos like juice and crackers or [ my favorite ] cereal and milk.
Good luck

72 is low. The problem with diabetes is that your blood sugar takes wild swings up and down.
