Buy a couple of baguettes, slice thin and spread with hummus sprinkle with cheese if you have enough money. Or do a big soup pot of chili. Or steam a lot of rice and make an easy sweet and sour sauce with a few chicken or turkey breast in very small pieces with a frozen package of oriental veg. mix. Or buy a few $1 french bread loaves and broil with pizza stuff on top. Or do a baked potato bar with as much to top as you can afford. Or go to your large size isle at the store and do a big, big can of tropical mixed fruit, drain and serve with biscuits brushed with cinnamon sugar, Do chicken wings with hot sauce? A big taco salad with hamburger browned in taco seasonings and garbanzos or red beans and tortillas..What are you going for besides 50 cents a serving?

Try chiilli mac!
For the amount of ppl you are feeding i'd say get.........
4 cans of Chilli and 4 packages of Velveeta mac n cheese.
Boil noodles and make macaroni and cheese as directed. Spray non-stick on the inside of a casserole dish and then stir in chilli until we'll maixed.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and you ahve a cheap delicious and almost effortless dish.
Also, top with sour cream and salsa to make a great dip!

Spagetti! Buy the pasta in a box, I just paid $.59 for one, and use the $1.00 cheap sauce from aldi or shop and save. Buy bread and make garlic bread. You could make a tub of it for $10. You could buy meat balls to put in it. count out 15 meatballs, and cut them in half, it will go farther.
Mostaccoli is cheap, also.
Do a hearty salad, like macaroni. Use the shell pasta, put in whatever you want, frozen peas, tuna salad, ham, celery, peppers, cheese, and use Miracle whip as a dressing. My favorite is ham and cheese and peas.
Make Waldorf salad. Apples with the skin left on, cut in bite size pieces, use at least 2 colors. Grapes cut in half, seedless, of course, pineapple chunks, celery, pecans, and the dressing is Miracle Whip, put it in a jar, and add a little orange juice, and shake it. Make it to pourable consistency, but not so thin that it will not stick to the fruit.

Chili and rice! Cheap and easy; cook rice according to package directions; I'd say about 4 pounds of ground beef, some hot pepper flakes, salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder; I like to have a nice ground round at about 90% lean broken up and tossed into a large pot that has had about a tbsp of olive oil heating up at med. high, brown up beef, toss in spices, add 1 medium onion and 1 green pepper if you like; you could add garlic, tomatoes(the chopped canned ones with basil or garlic is good); just test for taste and adjust spices according to taste...jalapenos or hotter for additional spice!

You're not going to get much for under $10 for meat for 20 people.
A bunch of cheap hamburger and make small meatballs served with toothpicks.
Or just tortilla chips and salsa.

HOT WINGS
Just get a big bag of chicken wings, a bottle of Wish Bone's Italian Dressing and a bottle of hot sauce. Mix the Italian dresing and hot sauce together to taste, marinate the wings and then bake.

I would do a couple of dipps, my favorite to make on a budget are hummus (chickpeas, tahinni, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt) and black bean corn salsa (1 can black beans, 1 can corn, 1 Tbl. cumin, 1/4 c. cilantro, 1 tomatoes (diced) and salt to taste.) those are may favorites and everyone LOVES them!
