Yes and no. Yes, there's a cure if you don't mind eating healthy and exercising for the rest of your life. No, if you intend to eat like a pig and have lots of desserts. Read more on my info page:

Sure, you can think this, along with others who believe that man never really landed on the moon, and that Elvis is alive and well and works at their local shopping mall... :D
To be honest, drug companies most likely will not be "curing" Type 1 diabetes anyway. Most of the promising research I have seen is done through public university labs and government. I am not saying there is no private sponsorship here, but rather that the "first" cure therapy for Type 1 will probably involve methods that will not be in a pill form. Not to rule that out, though!
While one day we may be able to prescribe a drug combo that will modulate the faulty immune response in Type 1 diabetes and "regenerate" beta cells, that is not probably going to be the first "cure therapy". More than likely transplanting *encapsulated* pig islets (or an alternate source) will be the first. These are protected from the immune system without any drugs.
Think about it this way...if a cure is possible, wouldn't you want to cash in on it before your competitor does? The fact is, modern research has failed at curing Type 1 diabetes over the past 30 years. Since that time, they have known it is an autoimmune disease, but only have just begun to actually focus on this critical point instead of just focusing on the destroyed beta cells (the OUTCOME, not the CAUSE of the disease). Blame lack of insight, not conspiracy.
The fact is, 90%+ of diabetics have Type 2 diabetes. If they cured Type 1 diabetes (the severe non-preventable kind), they would ease the suffering of millions worldwide, and still have 17 million Type 2 diabetics to make money off of in the US alone. No reason not to cure it. Ironically, Type 2 diabetes IS the kind that already can be prevented and even put into "remission" in some cases with proper lifestyle adjustments (but not actually cured).
In this case, the "cure" (by this I mean "remission") for some with Type 2 is catching it early, losing weight, eating right, and exercising. Plain and simple. Some find success with herbs etc. as well. Cinnamon, although not a "cure", has been shown to be useful in Type 2 diabetes.
There is no drug in hiding that can magically fix the body's *natural* metabolic response to obesity and poor diet (i.e. insulin resistance).
I'm not denying that these companies have no incentive to cure ANY form of diabetes. But I do not think they are HIDING a cure, per se. "Cure therapies" that show promise but little financial gain will most likely have to seek funding from a non-profit source.
For Type 1 diabetes, breakthroughs ARE coming. For Type 2, we know how much a healthy lifestyle can really change the outcome.

The last disease to be cured was Polio...and it almost destroyed the health industry. You will never hear of a cure for anything but just treatments that take your money and life at the expense of greed. Diabetes is an imbalance, balance your body back to normal. Read and educate yourself... if someone tells your that there is no cure, they don't know, and if they do know then they don't want you to know. An insulin company would pay millions not to let such product to hit the market becuase they would go bankrupt. But here it is. Take it for 2 years.
buy this product: Diamaxol by doctor Dr. Youngsoo Kim which was called the final cure to Diabetes. He was offered a large amount of money not to make his product public by an insulin producing company but he made it public anyways because it was his life's work.
Drink Colloidal minerals...they contain Chromium and Vannadium which control sugar levels....
Cinnamon and Nopals help control blood sugar levels also....
Natural approaches to many diseases are there and ignored. People can say that Elvis is alive, people can say that we never landed in the moon, but nobody but me can say what Cinnamon did to may father's glucose levels, I saw that Sugar levels were controlled by cinnamon. Why aren't they prescribed? Why? Some one Please tell me. The Knowledge is already there but they can't patent any of these findings and the fact that they can safe lives is thrown out the window. Many doctors are saying this, why doesn't anybody listen? Why? Because we are brainwashed or brainwashed people advise us. How can we be brainwashed. I can tell you that if a school doesn't teach like the FDA says, the school will be closed like many have. Why do doctors in china prescribe herbs and not in the US? Why? It's not the moon, it's not elvis, its the financial interest in your money by capitalizing on patented drugs and never interests in your health. The person who makes a decision before hearing both sides of the story is an idiot, you have to read for yourself and find out everything DOCTORS and HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONERS WHO DON'T USE DRUGS NOR SURGERY AS THE ONLY METHODS TO CURE. Hear what they have to say. If you still want to inject insulin instead of solving the issue, then make some insulin company rich and and feed the octopus that chokes the life out of you and your family...
You can't cash in on a natural cure, what part of non-patentable don't some of you understand. You can't cash in because your competitor will too...and so will everyone else in the world, prices will drop due to competition and that is less profit. And a natural cure that everyone can make will mean that those billions and billions of dollars in profit short of that of the treatments are now.

No, It is not true. The diabetes is incurable. Some of the diabetics assert that they have cured their diabetes, they tell a lie. The pancreas in diabetes, are damaged less or more and they start malfunctioning. So far no medicine has been developed which can repair the pancreas. Hence there is no cure for it.
To me , the second part of your question is not appealing one. Drug companies do not do so. They always want that their products should be successful and they gain goodwill in the market.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for diabetes at this time. With the millions of people who suffer from diabetes (myself included), a cure would not be kept secret.
There HAS been some talk about islet cell transplantion and a POSSIBLE cure...but it is in trial stages. Research has been hampered by the harvesting of islet cells, typically from the cord blood of newborns. It's very controversial.
A pancreatic transplant? That alone is rare. There is such thing as a kidney/pancreatic transplant but that would not be done unless a person is in renal failure and needs a transplant to survive.
Unfortunately again, there are just not enough organs to go around.

I do not believe there is a cure yet, but some of the Islet Transplant research is going very, very well. When you are looking for cures, I suggest reading ADA and JDRF because their goal is to put themselves out of business finding a cure.
There is always $ in the mix, but if there was a cure I think it would make its way out even if the big drug companies (such as Lilly) would be pushing.

There is not a cure for diabetes. Diabetes is treatable and manageable. You must eat a certain amount of carbohydrates and some of your carbs should contain fiber. You must take your medications and get regular exercise 3-4 times a week to start reaping the benefits from this disease.
We all know that we are at higher risk for problems with having diabetes and we need to follow our doctors instructions and do what we can to take care and control diabetes so that we can enjoy life. Go to the American Daibetes Website and go under contact us, and post this question to them, and see what they tell you about this.
