'ShogiO' is a windup merchant. Where did Gandhi get his determination to fight the British from? Not by killing cows. How did he win in the end, constantly opposing violence? He proved to the British he was right about his views of the British.

Thanks to 'Andielep'
MEDICAL EVIDENCE from a 20 year joint study of 880 million people by Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine "The CHINA STUDY" at Wikipedia QUOTE: “The findings from the China Study indicate that the lower the percentage of animal-based foods that are consumed, the greater the health benefits—even when that percentage declines from 10% to 0% of calories. So it’s not unreasonable to assume that the optimum percentage of animal-based products is zero...”
Let these meat-eaters have less than 100% health -- it's their choice.

Wow such hatred. I'm a vegan so I can understand the choice that they made I am a vegan by choice!! I can't believe the hate spewed forth by meat eaters.
Some genius says they are all dead in her answer - you don't say seeing as they are HISTORICAL FIGURES and you put WERE not ARE in your question. The 'Hitler' thing is complete fiction he ate little red meat but was never a vegetarian.
Are meat-eaters aware that Ghengis Khan ate meat and drank his horse's blood? Nuff said!!

Albert scheitzer was an advocate of eugenics. Benjamin Franklin was pro slavery. Issac newton was an misanthrope Percy Shelly was a sexual deviant Gandhi was an advocate of the caste system Socrates and Plato well lets just say they liked to fiddle. diet neither made them great or deviants in society.

Your parents are correct. You are a hypocrite. A stupid one at that. You don't want us to kill animals for consumption but support the right of a woman to slaughter her unborn child. And it is not just a blob of cells. All of the peope who say so have never seen an ultrasound.

I'm vegetarian, through choice, but have you not heard that da Vinci lived being threatened by cows in an "eye-for-an-eye fashion" (you eat my cousin, I'll eat yours) so whether it could truly be said that it was through choice is debatable

No I didn't know that. Who says, apart from you? Previous answerers asking your point (?) have missed your point. The list you post has a sprinkling of geniuses ( Plato, Pythagoras, Leonardo, Newton, Einstein & Shelley for me!) and other worthies.

Where did you come across Sinclair? He's WELL out of fashion. Really, I'm interested!

As usual this is way over their heads...they can not even appreciate that such genius would make a choice to kill or not ... they further show their ignorance but discussing Hitler who was NOT a vegetarian .."The confusion around Hitler's vegetarianism is likely due to his frequent dietary modifications where his meat consumption was reduced though not eliminated entirely. Vegetarianism is the elimination of meat from ones diet, and by modern definition the reduction of meat from ones diet does not constitute vegetarianism"(wikipedia)...... US society by large are meat eaters , but it has changed tremendously over the last 30 years .. It is what gives me hope that some will realize what they are doing and make they choice to give up killing animals without asking for anything in return .. .. I like your style!!

You can get mercury poisoning?
What about if I wash a dry pinto bean and cook it myself.
I know just so I don't eat lettuce and spinach.
And do you know that the horrible deseased animals they put in pet food is killing our pets. Read the news it is true.
My dog is going to be so pissed if I give him rice.
