For some reason lately when I first wake up in the morning, I get out of breath extremely easily. For instance, if I stretch while holding my breath, I find myself feeling very "out of breath" and oxygen-deprived, and having to breathe in and out deeply to get oxygen. Same thing happens when I get out of bed, going from lying on my bed to standing up. I don't remember this happening at all earlier in my life. It started around the beginning of this school year, or last summer, I'm not quite sure. I have bad allergies, but I don't think it's asthma, because with asthma I thought it was hard to breathe. But I can breathe easily, it's just that I seem to have a hard time getting oxygen out the air I breathe. It's almost like I'm trying to breathe pure carbon dioxide or something: no oxygen there. This disappears after about 3-5 minutes of being awake, and I am totally fine for the rest of the day. Is this normal, or should I worry? I am a 14 year old male.

I would suggest having your parent take you to the doctor. With these symptoms there could be several things possibly going on.

asthma does not always present with pain while breathing. you may have it. however quite often people who have cardiac instability sometime desaturate when they move or reposition themselves, then there sats go up. this is not normal though. you may want to go to the doctor and get a check up. try getting up slowly and taking a few deep breaths. are you diabetic?? and get a bronchodilator like albuterol
