Okay so far you've probably heard people tell you it's from personal reasons such as religion, health, etc. And that may be true. Some are vegetarians because their friends are. Some are vegetarians because they were brought up that way. It's all about person choices. I happen to enjoy meat. I tried to be a vegetarian but i felt sicker and all that, so I need meat to feel healthy, not tired, full, etc.
It kinda makes sense...but again it depends on why they are vegetarian. If it just because it seems fun, interesting, etc. then no it does not. If it's just to lose weight then no. I think it depends on why not just the decision itself.
And i apologize for all the ignorant and rude people. I know my answer probably didn't help but eh oh well-it's all just opinions.

Because that is what they choose to eat. It does make sense, especially to them because they might be very unhappy if they were "non-veg."
Sometimes people are allergic to things like fish, shellfish, eggs .... and maybe they simply do not like meat. And sometimes they cannot tolerate milk .... but they can manage soy milk and all the really nice things that are vegetarian ....
Just as bears like honey, tigers like meat, and some birds like fruit while others eat fish ..... people are different. It's ok. Don't worry!

What could possible NOT make sense about it? Veggies can get all of the nutrients they need from a plant based, whole grain diet, and vegetables and fruits. Why does a living creature have to die in order for me to stuff my face? It doesn't, People think vegetarians lack nutrition, and its true if you define nutrition like most people do. I lack cholesterol clogged arteries, and I don't take in near enough hormones, toxins, purines, blood, pus, urine, and fecal matter by eating just veggies. I am not missing out on a thing, trust me. Why must something bleed and die, when mother nature supplies all the nutrients we need. Eating meat, if you take the time to learn the truth about it, is what doesnt make sense. You ARE what you eat, and I, for one, do not particularly want to BE a dead animal. Makes perfect sense to me

Yes. It's a great way to live! You can nourish yourself completely without killing any animals to do it:"Thou shall not kill;" and it's by far better for your digestive track and for controlling weight. Vegetarians are for the most part a lot thinner, less body fat, and healthier than meat eaters. Meat is full of steroids if you buy supermarket meats--and animals are raised in the MOST inhumane conditions, slaughtered cruelly, and are about 30% FAT that leads to high cholesterol and heart disease. Plus, the human intestines are designed to to digest vegetables more so than meat by its greater length compared to animals who are only meat eaters--with shorter intestinal tracts. Let's see...does that make sense?
PS.. Vegetarians eat DAIRY. Only Vegans do not eat meats or dairy--to one of the answers above...who says we don't eat meat or dairy.

i dont understand the question- how can it not make sense?
Say it is natural for humans to eat meat (it isnt, our teeth are designed as herbivores-just because we can digest it doesnt mean we should eat it, we can digest cardboard!!!) there is still the fact of aniaml mistreatment before they are killed for meat.
So yes, it does make sense.
And dont use the excuse 'but it tastes nice' even if it does, you cannot care about animals enough if you eat them just beacuse of their taste. You can buy quorn products anyway.
Hope that helps (sorry if i was rude lol)

People go vegetarian for a number of reasons---health, beliefs on animal rights, personal taste etc. It can be a very healthy diet choice as long as you are careful to balance your nutritional needs.

it makes sense to eat what you prefer. the reasons are many, health benefits, respect for animals......you should look up and see what a vegetarian and a vegan is,like on google.cause you may not understand the definition of what they are if you do not understand why.

Some people have different reasons for what they do.
Some do it because of how the animals are being killed
Others do it because raising the live stock is hurting our environment.
