Hello, I need one more time a little more info. I am going craizy trying to understand what is going on with me. Doctors seems not to lissen to my symptoms and are sending me to tests and tests. I already did 4 blood test, ct, x-ray, ultrassound, stress check, ekg.

last CT - air disease as cause of mosaic perfusion.

what do you know about it. (please no website) just straight forward:
life treatening?, life survival?, what is it (cancer, simple disease?, type of treatment? how bad can it get?

thank you so much

I already put down an answer on this one... (I'll copy it verbatim later). One thing to note. You question this time includes whether or not it is cancer related. Diffusion problems typically aren't associated with cancer. However, it is associated with cancer "treatment". Typical cancer treatment includes cycles of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Both of which can cause diffusion problems secondary to tissue damage (e.g. capillaries, vessels, alveoli, etc...) In particular Bleomycin (AKA Blenoxane), which is commonly used for testicular cancer is particularly nasty for lungs (which is why Lance Armstrong's physicians opted against using it).

Diffusion problems associated with Bleomycin usage is secondary to scarring (pulmonary fibrosis).

"The major limitation of bleomycin therapy is the potential for life-threatening interstitial pulmonary fibrosis (also called fibrosing alveolitis) in up to 10 percent of patients receiving the drug [1-4]. Other, less common forms of lung injury include hypersensitivity pneumonitis and nodular pulmonary densities [2]." -Excerpt from Drs. Lasky and Ortiz (link below)

Now here is my previous answer:

Do you have any history of Pulmonary Embolism? DVT? Or Emphysema? All of these relate in some degree to airway disease cause for Mosaic Perfusion.

--- how dangerous it is?
No immediate danger, but becomes chronic... with progressive Shortness of Breath depending on degree of impaired diffusion (look up DLCO).

--- survival?
Look under Emphysema and/or Pulmonary Embolism, similar pathology... again, chronic problem, progressive with age.

--- possible treatment.
No real treatments, perhaps surgical intervention to reduce/remove areas of very poor perfusion.

Since you state the cause is airway disease, it implies air trapping, and therefore is moreorless emphysema. It has also been implied in studies that history of Pulmonary Embolism also results in "Mosaic".
