1/4 lb of meat per person is more than enough if your serving other things as well . Especially if your serving salad people tend to eat more of the salads and less meat . Most people don't eat a lot of carne asada just enough to make maybe 2 tacos its the side dishes that people enjoy more, meat is heavy and people tend to avoid eating something really heavy at a party it slows them down and makes them sleepy that's why they invented siestas . Salads are light and crisp and you don't get the full feeling, so go ahead girl throw some extra lettuce and some fresh seasonal fruits in a salad like pears or apples , even nectarines and some blackberry's, a few walnuts or glazed walnuts and get a nice raspberry vinaigrette and you'll be fine . there's nothing worse than left over dried carne asada . Its so thin even with under cooking it tends to get dried up. And Its always nice to have a few salads to offer

Whatever meat are you going to buy here is this guide:
How Much to Buy?
The Food Guide Pyramid recommends, 2-3 servings of lean meat each day. How big is a serving? It's 3 ounces cooked, about the size of a deck of playing cards or the palm of your hand.
The amount of uncooked meat you’ll actually need per person depends on the cut.
Boneless meat (ground meat, stew meat, boneless roasts or chops)—1/4 to 1/3 pound per serving.
Bone-in meat (steaks, chops, chicken pieces)—1/3 to 1/2 pound per serving.
Bony meat (ribs)—3/4 to 1 pound per serving
Holiday Portions
Holiday portion sizes account for second helpings. You may adjust as needed.
Item Amount per Person :
Prime Rib 1 rib for two people
Beef Tenderloin 1/2 lb
Top Round 1/2 lb
Rack of Veal
(5 chops) 1-2 chops
Rack of Pork
(4-7 chops) 1-2 chops
Pork Salute Roast

I would say 1/2 pound per person before cooking...
That would be about 10 pounds.
If you are making carne asada, you'll need tortillas, refried beans, and guacamole as well as salsa.
