When I get flu it lasts five to seven days. If my GP puts me on strong BP medication what is the outcome of being unable to digest these tablets during this illness period? Surly with BP rising as a result of flue, plus the withdrawal of medication could result in fatality. Any GPs out there?

You need to take the blood pressure tablets regardless to how ill you are with flu.The best way to take tablets is with a drink of bottled water and drink straight from the bottle its amazing how you can swallow straight from a bottle

GP here. I can't quite see what you mean by your question. Why should you not be able to digest tablets while you have flu? Perhaps it would help if you thought your question out and re-posted it. Also flu doesn't really put your BP up and missing tablets for a few days is unlikely to cause anyone to die!

Are you vomiting from flu symptoms? If not, there shouldn't be any reason for the medication to go undigested. Contact your doctor and voice your concerns to him/her. No medically trained person can or will advise you on taking, or not taking, medication over the Internet. If they do, you can bet that it's not reliable. I'm not a doctor; however, I am a paramedic. The only advice I can give is if you're not vomiting, then there shouldn't be a problem in taking your medication.

I take a boat load of BP medications and have had the flu. Obviously, it didn't take me out.

If it botthers you that much get the vaccine. Also, Oregano oil is a great curative/preventative for most flus and bacterial infections.

Blood pressure? Try red yeast rice(health food store). The flu won't interfere with it at all, and it will help with the flu.
