It is relatively inexpensive compared to other restaurants. However most Americans only eat it occasionally because it tends to be very greasy here. But REAL Chinese food is even cheaper, and usually only in places with large Chinese populations. And the Chinese people that live here often do eat it every day.

You can get a lunch-combo for about $5.00 in U.S.
includes Stir-fried Meat&Veggie, rice, and an egg roll. It's a cheaper meal options for Americans.
Chinese food here is modified and taste is nothing like authentic Chinese cuisine...You have to go to a big city with a ChinaTown like New York or San Francisco to get "real Chinese food"

A Chinese take out in this country can come under 7 dollars. I am not sure whether others would consider it to be expensive or cheap.

Depends on where you eat. If you go to a take-away it is cheap, but there are some very up market restaurants which are quite pricy. However, I have been to China and what we call Chinese food is a bit of a stretch of the truth.

Much of the "Chinese food" in North America is modified for western tastes, and is relatively cheap (but usually tasty). If you want the real stuff in the west (eg, congealed pig's blood, chicken feet, decomposed poultry egg, etc), you need to go to a "China town", situated in many major cities.

It is fairly inexpensive here in SE Texas. I used to eat it on a regular basis. There is a place in our small town that has really good Chinese food.

It's very cheap and it tastes like it. It tastes like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for a few days, and this is at the "finer" chinese restaurants. I won't eat it at all. Shrimp and pork are NOT supposed to taste the same!

not much difference. I went to Honk Kong a while ago and ate similar food there as I do here in the UK. If you want the better class of dish the price is higher.
Shredded beef is fantastic and tastes the same as it does in HK. I make it myself now.
