it totally depends on the kid, just like with adults. My 12 year old daughter loves the spicy stuff. She can eat stuffed jalapeno peppers all day long, but also loves soft cooked brocolli and other veggies. Its all a matter of personal taste.

So far I have noticed my daughter prefers overcooked veggies to semi-cooked. But she also likes eating certain ones raw, ie brocolli and carrots. In the way of flavor, most things she prefers mild, though when I breastfed her I ate spices galore and she didn't mind them in the milk. Children's taste buds are always exploring and changing!

Mild flavours definitely, but by no means over cooked vegetables. Kids love also crunchy raw things like carrots dipped in hummus for example and juicy food like tomatoes and fruit.. And food has to be colourful in its presentation, with a contrast to make it pleasing to the eye as well.

I would say mild flavour from my childhood memory .
However as a parent I can say , my kids love hot vegies more than I do , and over cooked is just yuck.

I think children would probably prefer fruits to vegetables.

If you could disguise vegetables as chicken nuggets, there would never be an issue of children not eating them.
