I'd say the person who threw the cup-cake at you started the food fight. He was the first person to fight with the food. Did the person know that his careless action would have started an all out war? maybe not, but the outcome was the same, a brutal and barbaric food fight.

I never throw food, unless its at homeless people.

Unfortunately, any sort or retaliation is supposed to be bad. You should always maintain your composer and act like a man. If you must, you should have marched over to the guy & placed the cupcake on his table and walked away saying thanks but I dont eat sweets.
