Actually, most people's arteries over the age of 30 to 40 start to get atherosclerosis. We won't live forever. Just living from day to day the body starts to break down and age as we get older. In some people, it happens sooner then others. A person who has mild narrowing of the arteries (atherosclerosis) probably feels no effects at all. Others who live life fast and hard usually get a buildup of plaque faster and wind up getting symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest pains. Unfortunately some are just born in the wrong family and their genes cause them to have more rapid plaque buildup then most.

the simple answer is: it affects it the same way anything would that would make you depressed, or limited. u can choose to work inspite of that condition and enjoy life as best u can or no. u can always 'choose' to be happy or 'choose' not to.

but from a medical side, it is the clogging and narrowing of your blood vessels. which means anything that u do that is physical is diminished. ur body has less capacity to do stuff now. it can get better with daily exercise, or work, or therepy.

it is the hardening of the arteries cause by accumulation of fats along the walls of the artery. this will narrow that passage of blood circulation to the heart which will cause insufficient amount of oxygen needed by the body causing difficulty of breathing & decreased cardiac output.
