I've seen kosher dills, kosher salt, kosher meat, kosher gelating. What in the world does Kosher mean? I know it's related to Jewish people but i dont exactly know why they always have that label on certain foods.

Kosher means it is grown, made, cleaned, etc according to the rules in the torah. This means certain animals cannot be eaten (pigs, shellfish, catfish), it also means that animals they can eat have to be killed a certain way. Certain types of food can never touch the same piece of equipment- like cows and any dairy can't touch the same pan, or grill. There are a bunch of other rules, but basically kosher food must follow the jewish laws of cleanliness when being prepared.

Kashrut is the body of Jewish law dealing with what foods we can and cannot eat and how those foods must be prepared and eaten. "Kashrut" comes from the Hebrew root Kaf-Shin-Resh, meaning fit, proper or correct. It is the same root as the more commonly known word "kosher," which describes food that meets these standards. The word "kosher" can also be used, and often is used, to describe ritual objects that are made in accordance with Jewish law and are fit for ritual use.

Just like something is bug free.
Or meat free.
For Jewish people we have standards...not to eat anything that isn't kosher.
Nothing is blessed by the Rabbi.
Kosher is kosher. Try it!
