I learnt even more horrific facts about meat tonight like 'frogs legs' (all imported from Asia) the poor things are skinned alive and amputated. Apparently they only die after this cruel torture has been subjected to them and it can be upto an HOUR afterwards . The factory chickens sad little life was worse than I remember and as for the so called 'healthier ' organic chicken 5 times more germs than the factory ones. Foie gras - vile muck IMHO is worse than I thought because they 'force feed' the poor geese using big F O tubes. I knew about how grim sausages are but some of them contain 'Donkey meat' ie salami.
(And foxhunter_guy thinks it is a great jape to eat meat!!!!)
Am I the only one to think that this is way past awful or are people just numb and heartless these days?

Yes the salads thing was bad but hardly in the same league. Tomatos did well though. So It ISN'T cruel to skin a poor frog alive then, I'm not buying that for a second

why must You push your beliefs on someone else i hope you don't eat fish because even though it isn't meat it's still an animal and it suffers coming from my beliefs God says it's alright for us to eat meat he has no problem with it so why should you? i am very healthy and i am an omnivore thank you and you say right and wrong? how many times have you sinned today or in the last week isn't that knowing the difference between right and wrong if not even better look at our teeth why do we have "fangs" if our body is based on vegetables and fruits we wouldn't need them! animals eat each other all the time please stop being so ignorant and find something better to do

I love meat. But I don't buy foreign. Only and always British - look for the little red tractor symbol.
Also I only want what you can tell where it came from - i.e. a joint of beef obviously came from a cow. But a kebab or 99p pack of sausages - who knows what's in it? (Donkey?)
Don't like wierd things either like frogs legs or fois gras. I mean, I don't see the point in eating that sort of thing.
For the record though, I come from the countryside so I am perfectly aware of where meat comes from. Its the food chain, thats the way it is. As for getting the meat, I think its important to reduce cruelty in slaughtering - so again frogs legs is out of the question and I object to the halal method of butchery. If you kill the animal properly, it doesn't need suffer.

I didn't see the programme but I've seen plenty of other horrific videos, pictures, pamphlets etc to know that I would never ever eat meat and could never approve of farming and slaughtering practises. The information about the inhumane way that many animals are treated is out there for anybody to see but most people are too concerned about satisfying their own appetites even if an animal has to suffer agony and torture for them to have meat.

numb and heartless; tell me about it!
I am proud to be a vegetarian. I can help save some animals life! And those poor frogs! And the geese! How CAN people be so numb and heartless. Its just so sad!!
My brother eats meat, and he has to rub it in. I don't even know if he has any feelings for animals whatsoever.
And my friend said that animals were put on the earth so we can eat them. And that that entitles that we can do whatever we want to with them.
Well whatever!!! Go on with ur meatful ways!!
GO VEG HEADS!!

yes people do treat animals like garbage to only package it off as food fit for human consumption. but we have right as consumers to eat meat if we want i as a meat eater choose the right to pay extra to ensure my meat has come from an organic totally free range environment a lot of my meat is from hunting you cant get more ethical than that. yes fois gras is disgusting, as is the practice of obtaining it. to kill frogs for one part of the body and discard the rest as waste is pointless and inhumane. but its not the cusomuers fault its the food producers who dont care about ethical treatment of animals. bernard mathew turkey twizler anyone? i'd sooner eat rat guts.

seen programmes like that in the past and will probably seen more in the future. i am a veggie since 14 years old. the only way to stop meat being mass produced like this. is to make free range /organic more affordable for all the public who choose to eat meat.

No, I totally agree with you. Cows milk is for baby cows. Milk doesn't help bones; the number of broken bones has increased steadily since 1887. Meat isn't the only source of proteins, and it leads too heart disease and other problems. And in ancient times, when eating animals was neccessary, the people eating them always prayed for forgiveness...Do you think Tyson Foods does ?

I am vegan already but these programmes are good.
They deny the meat eaters the chance to use the excuse I've heard lots of them use-'I love animals so I just don't let myself think about where meat comes from'

After watching that, I'm seriously thinking of giving up meat. The thought of meat makes me feel sick. I haven't eaten any meat products since watching.
