NO management of trich is by Metronidazole 2 grams orally in a single dose OR Metronidazole 500mg twice daily x 7 days. If treatment fails the patients are treated withonce daily for 3-5 more days. Sex partners have to be treated, avoid consuming alcohol becuase Metroidazole has a very bad reaction with alcohol consumption. Should also be checked for chlamydial infection and gonorrhea.

TRICHOMONIASIS
Treatment: Antibiotics - Metronidazole 500mg 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days. It is especially important that both partners are treated at the same time because an infected man, even a man who has never had symptoms or whose symptoms have stopped, can continue to infect a female partner until he has been treated. Anyone being treated for trichomoniasis should avoid sex until they and their sex partners have completed the treatment.
Metronidazole eliminates bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections of the reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body.
Azithromycin is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as bronchitis; pneumonia; sexually transmitted diseases (STD); and infections of the ears, lungs, skin, and throat. Azithromycin is in a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Azithromycin (generic name) Zithromax (brand name) is administered for the treatment of Chlamydia and CHANCROID.
