Throwing a relaxed, but chic dinner party. Need some ideas for funky lounge type cd's that I can flip on and let them play through. Thanks!

james morrison, joss stone, sergio mendes; you could even download the grey's anatomy soundtrack from itunes- that soundtrack has awesome laid-back music!

Both Portishead and Bjork are unique and pretty chill, with a funky vibe. Also, there's a soundtrack from a surfing movie that Jack Johnson made about surfing, called Thicker Than Water. It features some Jack Johnson songs, a few by G-Love and Special Sauce and a bunch more. All of the songs are really cool and laid back. I highly recommend it.

Try the Williams-Sonoma albums, called "Music Celebrating the Flavors of the World". They have a whole bunch of different ones, like "New York", "San Francisco" and "Paris". They are perfect music for a chill out evening. You can buy them at any Williams-Sonoma stores.

I recently found "Pink Martini" they have a very cool mellow sound
Try one from your library, or listen to snippets at Amazon.
