Depends what you're eating it with.
Grilled cheese = put cheese on bread and stick in toaster oven.
Mac and Cheese = cook noodles, drain, and add cheese with pot on stovetop.
Nachos = but nachos in oven and cover with cheese till cheese is melted.
Burgers = grill and then when almost done put a slice of cheese on top till it starts to melt.

Everything depends on what you're making.

It depends what you are making.
You can fry cheese in a non-stick fry pan.
If making grilled cheese sandwiches you can put the cheese between 2 slices of bread and butter the outside of both sides of the bread. Have a hot non-stick fry pan and watch carefully ... it could burn. If you aren't getting the results you want, just let the bread brown to a golden brown in the frying pan and then put the sandwich on a plate and microwave for 30 - 35 seconds.
MAKING HAMBURGERS WITH CHEESE: Just before your hamburger patty is done add a slice of cheese and let it melt over the burger.
CHEESE SAUCE: You need to add milk or cream with grated cheese in these recipes. Use the Google search form to the right and type in "cheese sauce recipes".

depending on what type of cheese you're using, you may either melt it over low-medium heat over a stove, or you must add some sort of liquid medium to it, like milk or cream to help it melt smoothly.
