Not a good choice. Even though she is ovo lacto, she will likely be aware that caviar comes from dead fish, not a live chicken like regular eggs do. Serve it to your other guests, but I would recommend a vegetarian "caviar" made out of black tiny lentils, or some other alternative

Check out what the vegetarian society say. In theory I suppose because caviar is to the sturgeon as egg is to chicken. However I never wanted to try it when I was a vegetarian.
EDIT - I didn't know they killed the fish. The answer then is 'no'.

No, I wouldn't. Good question though. The difference is that they had to kill the sturgeon to get the eggs. The ovo part of ovo-lacto really only refers to birds eggs.

Unlike a chicken, the fish has to die for caviar, so I'd doubt it. Just ask your guest, I'm sure that person would be glad that you're so considerate to think ahead!

Only if your guest is a pescatarian (meaning she eats fish). If she ovo-lacto, that means she only eats eggs and dairy.
OH! Eggs. I get it. Uh, I still wouldn't. They are fish eggs as opposed to chicken eggs. She might have certain boundaries about that. Some o-l veggies will use eggs only to bake things, but not to eat by themselves and she might apply that to fish eggs as well.
Good luck!

Vegetarians don't eat fish and most
don't look for loopholes so I
wouldn't suggest offering that up.
They also may be insulted and
think that you are trying to test
them. It is good that you asked
this question before going ahead
with it. It shows that you have some
sensitivity.

I wouldn't. THey have to kill a sturgeon to get the eggs. The eggs from chicken doesn't require to kill. The eggs aren't usually fertilized with chicken.

Your best bet would be to ask your guest before hand.
