100g sugar = 100g of carbohydrate or
1oz sugar = 28g of carbohydrate
You need only look on the back of a pack of sugar. All sugar is in theory the same as above.

All the above answers are right on--4 calories per gram, 28 grams per ounce--so I'll only add that you can switch to stevia, and drop the carbs out of your diet--and natural stevia is a lot better for you that processed sugar.

I use it totally in place of sugar, and buy it in bulk at herbalcom.com

It is MUCH sweeter that sugar, so you only use a pinch instead of a spoonful for the same result.
