I been having a horrible discomfort down there. Painful itching, I've gotten a bump or too in the past but it wasn't Herpes similar. I went to the doctor, have him take a look and he pretty much took a sample of my secretion, he said I'm ok. Tests came back "normal" gave me pills for allergies and it got better after I finished the treatment. Then it came back...I'm truly worried and I think this doctor thinks Im exaggerating. I've been with my bf for about a year and he's gotten tested and he's ok. Would a blood test resolve my question?

I definitely think that this clinical doctor may not be totally sure. I'm scared to death, because I think I'll never forgive my self if I contract anything. However, I have to check my self regardless, I can't run away from this and I have to get a blood test asap, at least to relieve this pain. For Mommyk23, I think your case is extremely interesting and I think it sounds a lot like what I feel. I added you to my contacts, if possible can you contact me to provide me with any additional info you may have, or at least what questions or test I have to ask the doctor. I have no insurance....and I'm afraid a blood test or a gyno might be super expensive. I'm a college student and I work part time. Do those free clinics exist for real, and are they legit?

Not all STDs are picked up by a Paps. I'm assuming thats what you mean by a sample of your secretions. I would go to a gyno. Get a Paps smear done and a blood test. If you go to a gyno they will do both any way. That way you'll know 100% for sure. I hate to say it but regular doctors in a clinical setting are not specialized in everything but a gyno will help a lot because thats what they do. Good Luck!!

So it's painful and itchy- but does everything look normal?
It could be vulvadynia. This is a relatively new condition that not a lot of people know about.
I was one of the "pioneers" on this (17 yeras ago) that took about 6 years to get a cure for.
Do some web searches on it- see if that is what it sounds like you have and then see a doctor that specializes in it.
The day I found the answer was a blessing to me and I was able to work on my healing after that.
Good luck and reach out if you have any questions.

If you haven't gotten a blood test, then you don't know that you don't have an STD or that type of thing because some STDs and problems can be detected only with a blood test. You should deffinitely have a blood test done.

Not sure about the blood test, but you should definitely get a second opinion. I would go to a different dr.

I suggest you go to another doctor for a second opinion and yes get a full blood test get them to test for everything that way once that all comes back clear you can rest assure that its nothing serious. Also check what type of soap/detergent you use to wash your underwear with it could be that your allergic to it...

hope you sort it out! :)

Yes, a blood test would. Also, a second opinion from a different doctor would probably ease your mind.

If you're not happy/convinced with a doctors diagnosis, then go get a second opinion from a different doctor. Different doctors look at situations from different perspectives.
