There are great soy food products that sub for dairy.
You can have soy sour cream, soy cheddar cheese, soy milk--even chocolate and strawberry, etc.
Take a whirl around your local health food store and ask the staff for help. Most places have such great employees.
Read lots of info on staying healthy and veg.
Good for you for going veg.
Good luck

That is wonderful ~ Good luck to you!

I loved cheese (doesn't everyone?) and have found that using avocados made the cheese cravings disappear! They are so rich and creamy that they really make burritos and salads so much more interesting and enjoyable. I also use more nuts - since they are filling and tasty and provide alot of nutrients. You no longer have all the fat from cheese in your diet you have plenty of room for more nutritious and delicious foods!

There are so many soy based items you will never miss dairy. Whole Soy makes the *BEST* frozen yogurt - really it is amazing!
If you like chocolate - try Endangered Species brand - their dark chocolate varieties are wonderful.

Go to the library and check out as many vegan and vegetarian cookbooks you can find and then buy the one you like that suits you best. I can personally recommend 'Vegan with a Vengeance' - the chocolate raspberry bars are reason enough to check it out!

And when you befriend the bean, befriend the bean-o, too. It's available at many grocery stores & drugstores. Use it as you begin to increase your overall fibrous intake - lots of vegetables can cause gas as your body gets used to digesting all that insoluble fiber.

Yes. Either drink soy milk, drink rice milk, or change your mind. That's my advice for now.

Don't be taking soy and thinking you are doing your body good because soy is toxic.
