Well, it depends on which "normal' insulin and which "long term" insulin. There are pre-mixed insulins on the market.
I know you can mix Humilin N and Humilin R because I did it for years. However, you cannot mix any "normal" or short term insulin with Lantus (Lantus is a very long term insulin ... it works in your system for about 24 hours for each dose). When you do, you can have big problems with your sugars plummeting like a stone. So, as I said, it depends

Yes, it should be done in a particular order but I dont recall it....

its been a long time since Ive drawn up any insulin for anyone

look at the manufacturers website for what ever brand youre taking or talk to your doctor

depends on the insulin. Some insulins can not be mixed at all or they will be destroyed. It is best to ask the prescribing doctor or the pharmacist.

Lantus needs to be injected separately from any fast-acting insulin like Humalog. Humalin (sp?) can be mixed w/Humalog in the same syringe. You draw the fast-acting first and then slowly draw the Humalin (sorry, I cannot remember how to spell that and spellcheck doesn't recognize the word!).

Yes they do this all the time in novalog 70/30 mix.
