personally i agree 100% although it has not been proved by scientists,
For example, my younger sister always used to eat these sweets, and she was constantly having bad moods. Now she has stopped, and of course still gets in a temper, but not nearly as much!
also when people dont eat as much they feel shaky or down, because they are not content.
I think food affects alot of things- like when you eat junk food and you get spots (im a teenager)
this also has not been proven, although i am positive that eating chocloate does affect you. i used to eat all that and got constant spots, i stopped and the spots gradually decreased, and went when i was really strict. However i do eat some unhealthy stuff now, and i do usually have a few spots!
sorry im going off track...in conclusion, yes i think it does.

Yes. There are tons of examples of how different foods affect us differently. For example: Sugar can make people hyper, tryptophan (a protein) is widely believed to cause drowsiness, eating chocolate releases serotonin in the brain (inducing a pleasure response), et cetera.

Our Vedas declare that"You are what you eat". If you eat pork, dog and cat, you will have very animal passions and emotions like increased passion and anger, etc. it obvious. beause characte depends on the blood concentratins and karmas. Trough animal meat we get their karmas also. So we need to eat only vegetables for good karma preservation and good and calm behaviour. I have turned in to hard core vegetarain considering these hard truth. It is possible with anybody.

I disagree...
If this is true then all vegetarians must be SAINTS...
And all meat eating people must be MONSTERS....It is not so

Gautama Buddha ate meat. His last meal was PORK. He is one of the holiest men to walk on this earth. The issue is how did he eat it?
-Buddha ate food without greed..
-He did not beg for food that was tasty, or had enough salt or spice.
-He did not tell the people who were giving alms to give him different type of foods.
-He ate one meal a day, and that too when his bowl was 1/2 filled itself.

-The vegetarian form of Buddism arose from his followers...

So?

Gautama ate food, to keep his body alive. He conquered the power of his "tounge". Unlike us, he let his mind rule.
Even today many spiritual leaders in the name of God / health specify what they want to eat / how much they want to eat etc......

On the other hand, people who eat vegetarian food... make such a big fuss over taste... to the extent they want the food to taste like meat.. Some present day leaders show-off by eating only vegetarian food, but they are the worst humans ever to walk on mother earth.
And some people who fast on certain days.... eat so much sweets, almonds, cashew nuts, milk and ghee... that one tends to feel why they even need to fast... and end up having heart diseases, diabetes... etc

-Food habits affect our short term and long term health... and these determine the type of person we tend to become.

Well there's a saying "you are what you eat" which frankly makes no sense to me...
does that mean if i have a chicken sandwich today i'll become a chicken tomorrow?
or conversely, i am a human - does that mean i eat humans? i'm not a cannibal as far as i know..!

jokes apart, i don't think food affects a person's character at all...

that's exceedingly unhappy to be attentive to which you human beings nonetheless have confidence that nutrition and drink can contaminate human beings. it could no longer. If flesh of crimson meat can defile a individual, then the flesh of any beast can do a similar. it is not what one eats makes him good or undesirable, yet what he does and says. a individual gets defiled via undesirable character and evil practices, no longer via ingesting meat or ingesting wine.

I think if you eat a high-fat, low fiber diet, you will become cranky and irritable, due to failing health. If you have ever been on a crash diet, you will know if it affects the behavior or not!

Very much if fat you are depressed and too much sugar you will be off the wall and if too much salt you will have health problems so I suggest a balanced diet.
