My future hubby can't drink what can he suggest he do for his bach party? Something fun that people won't or can't drink while doing..

He is a newly recovering alcoholic and his friends just don't get it!!!!

Try going for the natural high. You could try extreme (or not so extreme) sports with your friends. Why not squeeze a few at a firing range, try out paintball, go skydiving with your friends, or extreme water sports! Be open about with your buddies and I'm sure you guys will come up with a good plan!

Basically, anything you can do while drinking you can do without drinking (except shots, drinking games, partying till ya puke, etc.). Does he expect those around him not to drink either? That's actually a little selfish unless he's a newly recovering alcoholic.
edit: The only thing with recreational sports such as golf & bowling, most guys just use that as another excuse to drink. They could spend the day at an amusement park (I don't even know where you are located to be more specific), but again, alcohol can usually be found there. Out fishing with the boys, but if they aren't being understanding, trying to get them to leave the ice chest on the dock will be impossible.
Really, your fiance needs to sit town and have a talk with his boys and explain why he doesn't want alcohol involved with his party. If they are mature enough, they should understand and accept it...if they don't, he may need to find new friends better suited to his new lifestyle.

If his friends don't get it, then they should either 1. not have a bachelor party. or 2. find him some new friends. A recovering alcoholic is nothing to mess around with because they can easily fall off the bandwagon.

Hey, I am horribly sorry... but alcoholism is the problem of those whose lives became unmanageable.... I am a hard core alanon for 20 yrs now.
He should not nor can he control the drinking around him.. let him go ahead with his bachelor party and it is up to him *to not drink* "for that day = or even for that minute"...
My guess is his friends will not ***want*** to drink out of respect for him... Take it from there..
I think you need to hit the alanon tables = it is not up to you to protect him from alcohol hon... honest

My hubby just went to one and had a great time. He went white water rafting with the wedding party a few weeks ago. After they went home. He loved it... As a matter of fact they planned another trip for this summer.

Why does he have to have a bachelor party at all? If his friends wont throw one that is alcohol free then one should not be thrown at all. Why put everyone in an odd position?

A cooking class at a local gourmet shop just for the guys
Go Carts
Volunteer for the day to build a house for habitat for humanity

He should think of something he has always wanted to do. Go for a ski trip with some buddies in Colorado. Go skydiving in Sadona AZ, or ride a bull in Wyoming.

If there's money that can be spent, skydiving. Definitely something that shouldn't be done while drinking. Another option would be an afternoon at an amusement park or go-cart racing.

some sort of lessons: golf, sailing, cooking, auto mechanics
