That has repaired or improved? It's like looking through a swamp at the moment. Very depressing! Don't tell me anything more depressing please!

My aunty had this and had an opp to correct it which unfortunitely didn't work the 1st time n it detached again - a second opp was successful and saved her sight. Have you seen a specialist? This is really something that needs specialist treatment and if your case is similar to my aunty's then is quite urget! Getting properly treated is worthwhile - my aunty would've lost sight in that eye without it, but her treatment was a grueling 2 weeks of having to keep her head face down on a brace 24/7 - hard to cope with but she got through it ok. Your dr should've gone through treatment options with you - if you still have questions go back and keep going back untill you're happy with the response; also remember that you can and should ask for a second oppinion if you are unsatisfied with the response you've been given so far, but I'm not sure how common this is so if there would be another specialist in your local area. Another option for you would be to talk to a normal optition - they won't be qualified to really recomend treatment but if you find it difficult to talk to drs and want to better understand the basics of what a detached retina is then they might be good to talk to, and hopefully will have seen it before and therefore be able to tell you a bit about what other people have experienced. I'm not sure why you've posted this in the diabetes site - if you've got diabetes, this is not caused by it and is different to retinopathy where small blood vessels on the retina burst, but as with most medical conditions diabetes could make it worse.

Hope some of that helps and you get your sight better - good luck xx

Retina detachment is a serous disease but can be treat.the symptoms are see a lot of flies, lightning and lose perphiial vision field beginning if not treat on time will complete lose all the vision.Milder case can use laser to seal the tearing hole to prevent the fluid continue to get in the back of the retina to separate it from behind.Serous case need surgery right the way.All these need to be seen and decided by an ophthalmologist

Yes. Laser repair was done the next day as a matter of urgency. Unfortunately, it has produce a cataract will have to be removed, apparently common after this type of eye repair. Eyesight should be spot on when it is done.
