Adenoids are the lymphoid tissue meant for our proctection.They regresses after the age of 6 yrs .If your son is around 6 yrs then wait ,may be it will resolve by itself ,BUT if it is causing recurrent ear problem ,and mouth breathing then sure you will be benefitted with the surgery.At the most you can take the second opinion.Unless we see the patient we cannot comment so definitively.

You are born with them.... you dont get 'diagnosed' with adenoids!

depends on ur sons age.they can outgrow the problem.if he gets repeated attacks,noisy during sleep(sleep apnoea type)then may require surgery,otherwise ok.
