can a person get HPV from a person that got treated for it already, has no signs of warts what so ever, and it seems to be completely gone. can the virus be contracted through bodilly fluids, or some other way if it seems to be cleared up?

Yes, it is a virus and has the potential to stay in the body forever once it's there. Sometimes the body will make enough antibodies to get rid of the warts on its own, but the virus may or may not still be in the body.

Treating warts consists of removing them; this does not remove the virus.

It's contracted skin to skin, so condoms may not protect you.

just because you cant see the symptoms doesnt mean that they are not there! the lesions can be so small you cant see them without a microscope. not to freak you out or anything but 80% of people have hpv and it is very likely you have it already but since you are a guy you wont show any symptoms and there is no hpv test for men. It isnt really something that you can get from bodily fluids cuz it is a skin issue.

Also fyi: if you have ever had a wart of any kind anywhere on your body you have a strain of hpv

i just recently got diagnosed with hpv and my doctor told me that no warts would show up, it depends on the type of hpv thats there. on the other hand, a person will always have hpv because it is a virus and your body can fight it off but it can easily come back. GUYS are ONLY carries of hpv. there is no vaccines, cures or tests that guys can get. me and my boyfriend made sure of this as soon as i found out.

As far as I know, HPV is only contracted through direct contact(namely some sort of friction between surfaces that opens up the skin to the basal layer, allowing the virus to infect those cells)

Please know guys arnt just carries of hpv, they can get warts too. Some people do not develope warts, however this does not mean that they may not pass it on to you. Even if it seems to be cleared up, you can never be 100% sure.

It eventually goes away on it's own. The only way to tell though is through a blood test to check for antibodies.

Before you have sex with anyone, be sure you have tests done so you don't have to worry.
