nothing. Testing for sugar does not thin the blood.

huh?
You should be cleaning your finger before you test.(alcohol wipe)
Maybe your finger is oily.
Do you mean that when some days you test it forms a nice circle and sometimes it just smears out?
Also try and test different area of finger like on the left part or the right part of middle finger.

Ive noticed when my sugar is low it is quite a bit thinner
