I am sorry but who the hell gets of telling other people what they can and cannot eat. I could sit and eat bacon and burgers all day and still call myself a vegetarian and I don't really care if someone else didn't like it. Those whom call themselves vegetarians because they don't eat living things is bull, if you really never ate living things you would never eat fruit or vegetables, they were living once too! I currently am a vegetarian who does not eat fish, but say tomorrow I decided to have some nice fried mullet, guess what i would still call myself a vegetarian because i am allowed to, and that's o.k.

Ok sry I was off on a little rant , but i think vegetarians should be able to eat fish if they want to, without other people beating up on them about it.

Good point Kara, but you can't be so sure that plants don't feel pain, just because they can't speak or make noises doesn't mean thaey cannot feel pain I know i am probably sounding like a dumb as* but thats just my opinion and as far as i know were all entitled to one right?

How could you support people who are ruining the word vegetarian for people who don't EAT FIS? A fish is an animal, whether you think so are not. They aren't a mineral, they aren't a fruit/vegetable, and they aren't a plant.

So go ahead eat your fish or whatever animal you want once in awhile, don't call yourself a vegetarian.

Oh and actually looking through this someone said "pestco tarian" which is very funny btw, seeing as they couldn't even spell it correct! There is no such thing as a pescotarian, it would be pescovore! They're still eating an animal. The only types of vegetarians out there are:
lacto-ovo-vegetarian
ovo-vegetarian
lacto-vegetarian
and strict vegetarian.
There is no such thing as:
semi-vegetarian
pescotarian
pollotarian
or...get this one
flexitarian.

I like to call them all picky meat eaters because that is exactly what they are!

theres a difference in eating an animal and eating an apple. An animal feels pain, just like human beings, just like we're Mammals. Thats how we know they feel pain too. And not to mention the fact that if you hit an animal it will make noises like it is in pain. A plant doesn't not do so. They do not have neurological systems, thus feeling no pain. A Vegetarian wouldn't eat meat and still call themselves that because that is called a hypocrite. Yes you are allowed to do whatever you want, and yes it is okay, but the fact of annoying people with being hypocritical is not okay. And the technical name for vegetarians that eat fish is a Pescatarian.

The only reason I don't like when people call themselves vegetarian an they eat fish is because now EVERYONE thinks vegetarians eat fish!I could care less what someone else eats, but now that so many people eat fish and call themselves vegetarians, the real vegetarians that don't eat meat get served fish or asked if they eat fish, when they don't so it causes so much confusion.

Yeah, you could, but if you were to go around eating beef and telling people you're a vegetarian, that might give people the impression that vegetarians eat beef, and we vegetarians might not like that so much.

EDIT: Sure, people can eat fish! People can eat whatever they want! It's just not fair when people eat fish and call themselves vegetarians.

no we call ourself vegetarians because that's what we are, not who we're pretending to be.

for example if someone calls himself king, he is either king, or not, if he is not, he is a phony

understand? we use words to describe things, that is problly why vegetarians gets mad when someone eats fish and chicken. (CHICKEN) and called themselfs a vegetarian

phew 2 problems solved, soon all questions will be answered

It seems obvious to me that people can tell you something only if you get on this forum and ask a question.

If you don't like being told what to eat, then don't ask a question.

Simple.

Simpleton.

Feel free to call yourself whatever you want. Just because your word doesn't agree with the popular opinion, doesn't make it incorrect. The truth is all relative, anyway. Who knows. Maybe you'll incite a revolt.

Hoorah! Pass the baby pig ribs, I'm a vegitarian!
