This is a bit of an odd question... " Are flies 'meat'????..."

It is not that vegetarians don't eat meat. Vegetarians also don't eat Haribo's. They are not 'meat' either... however they do contain gelatine which is boiled up pig and cow bones.

We don't eat ANIMALS or parts thereof. Just for any 'piscetarians' watching (and Foxhunter Guy, apparently), we are talking animals at the 'animal, mineral or vegetable' level of classification.

So, as flies are neither a vegetable nor a mineral, they are animals. Therefore vegetarians would not want to knowingly eat them.

Easy when you think about it, innit.

There's no difference between pigs, cows, chickens, flies. They're all living creatures with central nervous system what makes them able to feel the pain as much as the human being can. That means you can call it as meat.
So the answer's obviously NO.

The question is excellent for the meat-eaters. Almost all of them would answer with no. If that's the case why do they eat meat at all? If they could say meat is healthy, they wouldn't make the difference (because flies are healthy as a beef steak). Of course it looks disgusting to them, so they're proving their egoism by doing everything they like, even if it makes cruelty over someone.
I'd like to kill my boss but that doesn't mean I can (ethically speaking).

Be natural! It's all you should do.

If the same person offered you a plate of flies to eat, and you were a meat eater, would you eat them, even if they're meat?

Flies are very small so i dont think there'd be much meat on them & i love meat ( animals are very tasty ) Maybe a kilo of flies fried in garlic served with lots of chips ( cooked in animals fat ofcourse ) would be ok ( if you're a bat )
Anyway why the hell do you want to know if people would eat a plate of flies? why not say ants or fleas or even dust mites, you're a weirdo that wants to eat flies & expect other to be your lab rat, Mmmm lab rats, very tasty

Once when I was in Italy (living there) I went to eat at a new Chinese restaurant .I ordered vegetable soup which promptly arrived full of tiny flies (like gnats) ...I asked them why there were flies in my soup and they tried to tell me they had them imported the flies from China .... I declined to eat them .. Just thought I would share .. anyway yes they would be considered an animal and therefore non eatable for vegetarians/vegans...but good luck with them ..maybe you can teach them tricks...

ok, first...who on earth would offer you a plate of flies
second....why on earth would you eat a plate of files?
But just for the record, no as they are meat, although i do see where you are coming from. I have thought about this before-i saw a programme where a celeb had to eat this dried maggot thing, and i was like oh i would do that, it is easy.
But i dont think i would, because i dont eat meat!
So no, because it is meat.

No I wouldn't eat them as flies are animals.

I am a vegan so I only eat plants or fungi or things made from them.A vegetarian wouldn't either as they don't eat animals either.

A pescatarian might if they liked flies but they aren't true vegetarians.

In real life though most omnivores would not eat flies.

It's not so much a question of meat, more the idea of eating a living creature, so no a vegetarian wouldn't eat flies. Swallow them accidentally maybe, but not eat deliberately.
