My friend is going to have a re do of his 1st bypass surgery which was done over 15 years ago. I would like to know how it turns out the 2nd time around. He has already had veins salvaged out of his legs from the 1st bypass and now I suppose they will take them out of his arms or somewhere else. I need to know what I can do to help him. He is just a really nice fella and is scheduled for the bypass on Friday.

They can use superficial veins in his arms, or the most common use is using the internal mammry artery for bypass, or even his radial artery in his forarm.

My father just had an Artery replaced and he had a quad bypass about 20 years ago. Not certain if this is the same but he had an artificaial artery installed about 18" in length quite the job. he was back home within a week and it was less evasive as the original bypass. I did not know they had atrificial arteries prety cool !!
