Oral sex will NOT stop a period. However, freaking out WILL stop a period. Stress is notorious for causing a missed period.
Are you under 20? If so, then it's typical to have irregular periods.
As for the effects of receiving unprotected oral sex? You can get STDs! To protect yourself from STDs during oral sex, you can use a sheet of plastic cling film to cover your genitals. Or you could simply abstain.
