There is a condition called 'orthostatic proteinuria' that is normal and completely harmless. Aside from this, however, it is usually an indication of disease or renal impairment. You could have an unsuspected kidney infection (in rare cases they cause few symptoms). Get a thorough exam and also have them do a microscopic urinalysis.

High levels of protein ( albumin) do producing foaming in a urine sample. Proteinuria is usually an indication of kidney damage, It is good you are going to see a kidney specialist ( nephrologist). They may order a 24 hr urine test for creatinine clearance and total protein. These tests are a more accurate way to assess than a random urine sample.
